Enrichment Classes

SUBJECT TO CHANGE
Dancers choose one of the following classes prior to registration. While every dancer attending the festival is guaranteed an enrichment class, classes are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Late registration may result in dancers not being placed in the enrichment class of their choosing. When a class is filled, it will be updated as “filled,” and a notice will be put out on social media.

  • Contemporary Repertory (suggested for dancers ages 12 and above) is a class that focuses on contemporary concert dance.

  • Advanced Pointe (suggested for dancers at high intermediate through advanced levels). Dancers will work on strength-building pointe exercises and artistry. This pointe class will be a good fit for students who take four or more technique classes a week and are dancing on pointe a minimum of three days a week. Students taking this class should feel comfortable dancing on pointe in the center.

  • Musical Theater Dance (suggested for dancers of all levels) will begin with a quick warm-up incorporating a blend of Cole and Fosse techniques. The breadth of the class will focus on learning a section of musical theatre choreography (and a small section of vocal music, for those who like to sing), integrating these stylistic influences of Jack Cole and Bob Fosse.

  • Ballroom (Salsa) (suggested for dancers of all ages) is a social dance style class that focuses on Latin rhythms.

  • Israeli Folk Dance (suggested for students of all ages), a class that will teach the fundamentals of Israeli cultural dancing.

  • Choreography (suggested for all ages) is a class that encourages creating, thinking, and confidence in creating dance works.
